Sunday brunch at Cafe Lily, an elevated experience

You must try the biscuits at Cafe Lily. Freshly baked to golden perfection, they are wonderful with butter, warm syrup, gravy, apple jelly or strawberry preserves. We watched baskets arrive at tables nearby ahead of the main entrees and we ordered one of our own as well.

If you’re looking for an elevated Sunday brunch, head to Cafe Lily, a fixture in downtown Decatur, GA since 1999. The restaurant is known for its variety of cuisines from around the Mediterranean Sea—Italy, France, Greece, Spain , North Africa and the Middle East. In addition to breakfast entrees, you’ll find seafood, chicken, lamb, beef, salads, soups and sandwiches on their lunch and dinner menus Tuesday through Saturday.

As you step inside this corner bistro, the rustic, warm and inviting atmosphere immediately sets the stage for a relaxed and enjoyable dining experience. The vibe is sophisticated.

Cafe Lily’s brunch offers an eclectic menu including fluffy pancakes, stuffed French toast, wraps( think chargrilled lamb), Brunch Beignet de Crabe (lump crab cakes topped with poached eggs, Hollandaise sauce, diced roma tomatoes), Greek and Tuscan omelets and Southern plates with polenta, eggs and bacon.

I had the Shrimp and Grits: cheesy polenta topped with white shrimp sauteed in bacon-sausage gray and garnished with Romano cheese. It was wonderful!

Val had the Lily’s Breakfast, which comes with your choice of thick cut bacon, smoked sausage, or plant based sausage), scrambled eggs, fresh fruit and homesty potatoes or creamy cheesy polenta.

Bottomless cocktails such as mimosas, Bloody Marys, red and white Sangria and Bellinis, along with other signature cocktails and wines also are on the brunch menu.

We decided at brunch that we’re coming back for lunch and dinner—and dessert. Both menus offer some wonderful options we can’t wait to try.
