Huskers Cafe: “Sunday Morning Breakfast Every Day”

The grits are amazing at Huskers Café. So is the French toast. And the grilled salmon. And cheese eggs.

In our quest to find great places to brunch in the metro-Atlanta area, Val and I recently visited Huskers Cafe’s Stone Mountain location at 1825 Rockbridge Road. We dined there after one of our readers, Frank, suggested that we try Huskers, an African-American-owned restaurant. Glad we did!

The Stone Mountain Huskers Café opened in 2016. There’s also a second location in Suwanee, GA.

According to the café’s web site, Huskers is a place where you’ll find “Sunday morning breakfast, every day.”

The café offers breakfast bowls, pancakes, melts, and other Southern-style comfort foods. You’ll also find sandwiches, soups and salads, if you’re looking for lunch items.

I had the Buttermilk Breakfast with french toast instead of pancakes, along with sausage, scrambled eggs with cheese and cheese grits. Val had the Premium Bowl with salmon, fried eggs, cheese grits and Texas toast.  First time Val ever ordered a fried and it was cooked to running or hard. Everything we had was cooked to perfection.

During our visit, we had a chance to meet Glenn Knox, who introduced himself as a partner of the restaurant. Check out the video in this post.

Huskers offers food at reasonable prices. The café is located in a shopping plaza and parking is free. Daily hours 7 a.m. until 3 p.m.

Thank you, Fred, for telling us to check out Huskers!
